A Bilum is more than a bag. It is a story, a tradition, and a connection to the hands that wove it.

This is a one-of-a-kind piece, up to 20 years old, often passed down through families before finding their way here. These are pre-loved pieces, worn and carried before they found their way to you. The patterns and styles represented in our vintage collection span the length and breadth of Papua New Guinea. No two are the same, in pattern, colour, or story, each one is truly unique. Vintage means something that already exists, less waste, and a deeper connection to culture. Some pieces have been lovingly mended, a tradition of repair as old as the weaving itself.

Handwoven using time-honoured techniques, each Vintage Bilum is naturally expandable and made to be carried. Project Two Mile exists to ensure the women behind these pieces are fairly paid and that this living craft tradition is preserved for generations to come.
